Architectural Associations
AEI is the home for all professionals in the building industry. They provide a multi-disciplinary national forum for members of, but not limited to the architectural engineering, structural, mechanical, electrical, and architectural communities. Recognizing the necessity for a place to examine issues and exchange views and information with one another, AEI was established in 1998. AEI works to facilitate the crucial communication among members of the building team, both on a technical basis and in the professional arena. In addition, we strive to be the premier organization for: timely quality technical literature, professional advocacy, and educational opportunities.
Their mission is serve the building community by promoting an integrated, multi-disciplinary approach to planning, design, construction and operation of buildings and by encouraging excellence in practice, education and research of architectural engineering.
EEBA - Energy-Efficient Building Association
EEBA is a USA based non profit organization that promotes the awareness, education and development of energy efficient, environmentally responsible buildings and communities.
The strength of EEBA lies in the diversity and talent of its membership, which includes architectural businesses, builders, developers, manufacturers, engineers, utilities, researchers educators and environmentalists. EEBA run conferences, workshops and other events, as well selling publications on energy efficient building.
The RIBA
The RIBA exists to advance architecture and promote excellence in the profession using an unrivalled programme of lectures, exhibitions and events; works in schools, community architecture projects and community architecture schemes.
It also runs a prestigious awards programme, the most significant of which are the Royal Gold Medal, which goes to an individual for a distinguished body of work, and the annual £20,000 RIBA Stirling Prize, for the building making the biggest contribution to British architecture.
For its 30,000-strong membership in the UK and abroad, the RIBA provides specialist information and advice, practice promotion (via ), professional support,
commercial products (via RIBA Enterprises) and many social and cultural events.
The powerful collective voice of its membership is in constant dialogue with government, clients, users and the construction industry (via the policy department). The RIBA campaigns in defence of professional standards.
It consults widely via its system of expert on issues from energy and conservation to planning and procurement (practice department).
To advance the knowledge base of the profession, the RIBA promotes research and innovation by encouraging interaction between practitioners and researchers, by facilitating debate, and by helping disseminate research outcomes (Research and Development department).
To maintain competence in the profession the institute validates courses in schools of architecture, both in the UK (education department) and overseas. And chartered members, who commit themselves to life-long learning, are served by the institute's programme of continuing professional development (CPD department).
